The mood glides. The story clicks. And the gut? Happier than ever. đŸ’« I had the pleasure to art direct this campaign completely. From conceiving the characters, designing the layouts to checking the live action props and even direct the final color correction. In the middle of the process, on a very (of many) stressful day, I got a message saying that Nia, the protagonist of one of the spots, had seen her animated self and the way we told her story — and she was super happy with it. Our main goal was to amplify the voice of this Iranian citizen, so we decided to use the email (with their previous authorization) as the script. We got deep in reseach, we informed ourselves and received the advice. The videos are a compilation of footage found on social media channels showing what was going on accentuating the force of the fight and the bravery of Iranian citizens.&nbsp; I chose the symbol of a water lily, Iran’s National flower, moving forward on the river as a symbol of hope and change. The song that accompanies the piece is an instrumental version of the song called “Baraye,” written by the 20-year-old Shervin Hajipour, which has become an anthem for the protests in Iran. In the end, we can see the uncut footage of schoolgirls singing the full song with their hair totally exposed. I feel super grateful for the feedback I got, specially from Iranian women. By stepping away from productivity, the senses, emotions, and desire begin to open. Rest allows us to feel. When we stop feeling, our vision narrows. I seek to open small cracks in everyday fast life—intimate, sensorial moments where perception shifts and presence emerges. The minimal movement, the minimal visual resources to express dense feelings.
